Chiropractic was founded by DD Palmer in America around the 1890’s. 4. The word 'chiropractic' comes from the Greek words cheir (meaning 'hand') and praktikos (meaning 'done') – namely, done by hand. The name was chosen by the developer of chiropractic, Daniel David Palmer. 5. Australian chiropractors are five-year university trained, and are government registered and government regulated health professionals. 6. Heathmont
Heathmont is a residential suburb 24 km east of Melbourne and 2 km south of Ringwood. The name Heathmont appears to have come from the rising land in the locality originally having heath or low shrub like vegetation on it. The opening of the Heathmont Railway station occurred in 1926 and a post office was opened in 1929. Significant residential growth did not occur in Heathmont until the post-war years. In 2014 Heathmont college had 496 pupils and Heathmont East Primary school had 463 pupils.
